Ideal for a family gathering, or simply as a delightful way to end a meal, these dumplings are not just desserts; they are a celebration of seasonal flavors. They can be served warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream melting over them, making them the perfect dessert for chilly evenings.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large apples, peeled and cored
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1½ cups orange juice
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)
Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut each apple into 8 wedges.
  3. Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles. Wrap each apple wedge in a dough triangle and place in a baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, mix the melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Pour over the wrapped apples.
  5. Gently pour the orange juice around the dumplings.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the dumplings are golden brown and apples are tender.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
