The combination of melty cheese, savory ham, and crispy bread creates an irresistible snack that’s perfect for any occasion. These Ham and Cheese Sticks are not only delicious but also incredibly easy to make, making them a go-to recipe for busy days.

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of sandwich bread, crusts removed
  • 8 slices of ham
  • 8 slices of cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Directions:

  1. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin until it’s thin.
  2. Place one slice of ham and one slice of cheese on each slice of bread. If using mustard, spread a thin layer on the bread before adding the ham and cheese.
  3. Roll the bread up tightly, sealing the edges with a little bit of the beaten egg to prevent unrolling.
  4. Dip each roll into the beaten egg, ensuring it’s fully coated, then roll it in breadcrumbs until fully covered.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the rolls until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
