Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a large pot, add the chicken, onion, celery, and carrots. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked.
  2. Remove the chicken from the pot and shred the meat, discarding the skin and bones. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk until just combined to form a dough.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the simmering broth. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the dumplings are puffed up and cooked through.
  5. Add the shredded chicken back into the pot. Stir to combine and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving, if desired.
