Honey Bun Brownies combine the best of two favorite treats: cinnamon rolls and brownies. With a rich, buttery base and a swirled cinnamon-brown sugar filling, these brownies are a perfect balance of sweet and comforting. Topped with a smooth, sugary glaze, they’re sure to satisfy any sweet tooth!
- Ingredients:
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and sour cream until well combined. The batter should be thick.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter in the baking dish, creating a swirl pattern.
- Use a knife or a skewer to gently swirl the cinnamon-sugar mixture into the batter to create a marble effect.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the brownies are baking, make the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
- Once the brownies are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before drizzling the glaze over the top.
- Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before slicing into squares and serving.
