This Sausage Breakfast Pizza combines the rich flavours of breakfast sausage and eggs with the indulgence of melted cheese, all atop a crispy, golden pizza base. It’s the perfect meal for breakfast, brunch, or any time you crave a comforting and satisfying dish.
- Ingredients:
- 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 200g breakfast sausage, crumbled
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup bell peppers, diced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (200°C fan)/450°F.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add crumbled sausage and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and fully cooked. Remove from heat.
- Sprinkle both cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the pizza dough.
- Add cooked sausage, sliced onions, and diced bell peppers on top of the cheese.
- Make four small wells in the toppings, and crack an egg into each well.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bake the pizza for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden, and the eggs are set (adjust baking time based on your preference for egg firmness).
- Once out of the oven, garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
