These Apple Fritter Bites are the perfect combination of warm, crispy batter and sweet, cinnamon-spiced apples. With a golden exterior and soft, apple-filled centre, they offer the perfect bite-sized treat that everyone will love.

  1. Ingredients:
    • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    • Pinch of salt
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
    • Vegetable oil for frying
    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
  4. Heat about 2-3 inches of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil, frying for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
  6. Using a slotted spoon, remove the fritter bites from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Once all the fritter bites are fried, dust them with powdered sugar before serving.
