The Apple Cinnamon Lasagna Roll is a whimsical twist on traditional desserts, combining the comfort of cinnamon rolls with the fresh, tangy sweetness of apples. Each bite offers a delightful blend of soft, fluffy pastry and the rich, caramelized apple filling, creating a perfect harmony of flavors.

Ingredients:

  • 2 packets of cinnamon rolls
  • 4 large apples, peeled and diced (Granny Smith or Golden Delicious)
  • Half a cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Half a teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (or salted caramel sauce if you prefer)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray an 8″ x 8″ x 2″ glass or ceramic dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Mix apple cubes, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  3. Cut cinnamon rolls into 1/2-inch strips and roll out until fluffy.
  4. Arrange a layer of flattened cinnamon rolls in the dish, pressing to seal.
  5. Spread half the apple filling and drizzle with caramel sauce. Cover with another layer of cinnamon rolls.
  6. Repeat with the remaining apples and caramel sauce. Cover with the remaining cinnamon rolls.
  7. Bake covered with aluminum foil for 30 minutes, then uncovered for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool for 30 minutes, drizzle with icing, and serve.
