The Apple Cinnamon Lasagna Roll is a whimsical twist on traditional desserts, combining the comfort of cinnamon rolls with the fresh, tangy sweetness of apples. Each bite offers a delightful blend of soft, fluffy pastry and the rich, caramelized apple filling, creating a perfect harmony of flavors.
Ingredients:
- 2 packets of cinnamon rolls
- 4 large apples, peeled and diced (Granny Smith or Golden Delicious)
- Half a cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Half a teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (or salted caramel sauce if you prefer)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray an 8″ x 8″ x 2″ glass or ceramic dish with nonstick spray.
- Mix apple cubes, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
- Cut cinnamon rolls into 1/2-inch strips and roll out until fluffy.
- Arrange a layer of flattened cinnamon rolls in the dish, pressing to seal.
- Spread half the apple filling and drizzle with caramel sauce. Cover with another layer of cinnamon rolls.
- Repeat with the remaining apples and caramel sauce. Cover with the remaining cinnamon rolls.
- Bake covered with aluminum foil for 30 minutes, then uncovered for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool for 30 minutes, drizzle with icing, and serve.
