These Apple Fritter Bites are the perfect combination of warm, crispy batter and sweet, cinnamon-spiced apples. With a golden exterior and soft, apple-filled centre, they offer the perfect bite-sized treat that everyone will love.
- Ingredients:
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
Directions:
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
- Heat about 2-3 inches of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil, frying for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
- Using a slotted spoon, remove the fritter bites from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Once all the fritter bites are fried, dust them with powdered sugar before serving.
