Butter Swim Biscuits are the perfect balance of flaky, buttery goodness. These biscuits are baked to perfection with a golden, crispy top and soft, tender inside. The drizzle of melted butter creates a rich, flavorful experience, and the result is a biscuit that’s irresistible. Served warm, they make an excellent addition to breakfast, dinner, or as a snack.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for sweetness)
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Pour the milk and 1/2 cup of melted butter into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The dough should be thick and slightly sticky.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together. Roll the dough out to about 1-inch thickness.
- Using a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass, cut out biscuits and place them into the prepared baking dish, arranging them closely together.
- Dot the tops of the biscuits with cubed butter and drizzle the remaining melted butter over the top.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Optional: Drizzle with honey for a touch of sweetness before serving.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
