Ideal for brunch, dessert, or as a special treat, this bread is not just a delight to the taste buds but also a feast for the eyes. Its golden-brown crust, swirled with caramel and cream cheese, makes it a perfect centerpiece for any table.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add caramel sauce and mix well.
  6. Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared pan. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the batter, then top with the remaining bread batter.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
