Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add caramel sauce and mix well.
- Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared pan. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the batter, then top with the remaining bread batter.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
