These Cheesy Onion Crisps are a crispy, golden delight that combine the sweet, caramelised flavour of onions with the rich creaminess of cheddar cheese. They’re baked to perfection, giving you all the satisfying crunch of a fried snack, but without the grease!
- Ingredients:
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, breadcrumbs, grated cheddar, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and milk together until smooth.
- Dip each onion ring into the egg mixture, then coat with the cheese and breadcrumb mixture, pressing down gently to ensure the coating sticks.
- Place the coated onion rings on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the crispy, cheesy goodness!
