Whether you’re hosting a get-together or just craving a cheesy treat, these mozzarella bites are sure to hit the spot. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy them as they are for a delightful taste experience.

Ingredients:

  • 10 oz mozzarella string cheese (or 10 sticks)
  • 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions:

  1. Cut the string cheese sticks into bite-size pieces on a cutting board.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the eggs. Add the milk and whisk again.
  3. Prepare two additional bowls, one with flour and the other with bread crumbs. Arrange them in a line: flour, egg mixture, bread crumbs.
  4. Coat each cheese piece first in flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the bread crumbs.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F. Test with a wooden spoon handle for readiness.
  6. Fry 5-7 cheese bites at a time for about 30 seconds, ensuring they don’t stick together.
  7. Remove the bites with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  8. Repeat with remaining cheese and serve immediately with pasta sauce or solo.
