Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- Additional marinara sauce for topping
- Shredded mozzarella cheese (optional, for topping)
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, milk, onion, garlic, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Press the meat mixture into a loaf pan.
- Spread 1/2 cup of marinara sauce over the top.
- Bake for 1 hour or until cooked through.
- Optionally, top with additional marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese in the last 10 minutes.
- Let rest before slicing.
