Hamburger Potato Casserole is a classic comfort dish that’s perfect for a hearty family meal. Layers of tender potatoes, savory ground beef, and creamy mushroom soup come together to create a deliciously satisfying casserole. The combination of flavors and textures makes this dish a favorite for any dinner table.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add Vegetables: Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the ground beef. Sauté until the onions are soft and translucent.
  4. Layer Potatoes: Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Arrange a layer of the thinly sliced potatoes at the bottom of the dish.
  5. Add Beef and Soup: Spoon half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the potatoes. Spread half of the cream of mushroom soup over the beef mixture.
  6. Repeat Layers: Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, ground beef, and cream of mushroom soup.
  7. Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the potatoes are tender. Remove the foil during the last 10-15 minutes of baking to allow the top to brown slightly.
  8. Cool and Serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
