Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¾ cup chopped maraschino cherries (drained and patted dry)
- Optional: 1–2 tablespoons cherry juice for extra flavor
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped maraschino cherries. If desired, stir in cherry juice for extra cherry flavor.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
