Pecan Tassies are the perfect bite-sized treat that brings all the flavors of classic pecan pie into a mini version. The buttery, flaky crust holds a sweet and nutty filling with the perfect amount of crunch from the pecans. These little delights are not only incredibly delicious but also perfect for parties, holidays, or any time you want to serve something cute and decadent.
- Ingredients:
For the Crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
For the Filling:
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
For Garnish:
- Whole pecans (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a mini muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a medium bowl, mix the flour, butter, cream cheese, and sugar until a soft dough forms.
- Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 tablespoon each, and place one ball in each muffin cup. Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of each cup to form a crust.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, egg, vanilla extract, salt, and flour until smooth. Stir in the chopped pecans.
- Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the filling mixture into each crust.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.
- Let the pecan tassies cool in the muffin tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Optional: Garnish with a whole pecan on top of each tassie for decoration.
