- Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf
Ingredients:
- For the Meatloaf:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- For the Topping:
- 1 cup provolone cheese slices
- 1/2 cup sautéed onions and peppers
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or baking dish.
- In a large skillet, sauté the diced green bell pepper and onion until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and the sautéed peppers and onions. Mix until well combined.
- Gently fold in the shredded provolone cheese into the meat mixture.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Remove the meatloaf from the oven and top it with provolone cheese slices and extra sautéed peppers and onions.
- Return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
