Ingredients:

  • 1 lb steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 lb frozen French fries
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Provolone or Mozzarella work well)
  • Salt, to taste
Instructions:
  • Prepare the Fries: Cook the frozen French fries according to the package instructions until they are crispy and golden brown. Season with a bit of salt if desired.
  • Cook the Steak: While the fries are cooking, season the thinly sliced steak with garlic salt and ground black pepper. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook until it’s browned and cooked to your preference. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.
  • Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil, the sliced onions, and bell peppers. Sauté until the onions are translucent and the peppers are tender.
  • Assemble the Dish: Place the cooked fries on a serving platter. Top with the cooked steak and the sautéed onions and peppers.
  • Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the hot steak and fries. The heat from the steak and fries will help melt the cheese.
  • Serve: Serve hot and enjoy your Philly Steak Cheese Fries!
