Ingredients:
- 1 lb steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
- 1 lb frozen French fries
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Provolone or Mozzarella work well)
- Salt, to taste
- Prepare the Fries: Cook the frozen French fries according to the package instructions until they are crispy and golden brown. Season with a bit of salt if desired.
- Cook the Steak: While the fries are cooking, season the thinly sliced steak with garlic salt and ground black pepper. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook until it’s browned and cooked to your preference. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.
- Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil, the sliced onions, and bell peppers. Sauté until the onions are translucent and the peppers are tender.
- Assemble the Dish: Place the cooked fries on a serving platter. Top with the cooked steak and the sautéed onions and peppers.
- Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the hot steak and fries. The heat from the steak and fries will help melt the cheese.
- Serve: Serve hot and enjoy your Philly Steak Cheese Fries!
