Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
  4. Add garlic, cook for 1 minute. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Stir in the cooked macaroni.
  6. Transfer to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese.
  7. Bake, uncovered, for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is melted.
