These Salted Caramel Bites are the ultimate indulgence—sweet, salty, and chocolatey, all in one bite. With a soft caramel center coated in rich dark chocolate, each piece is topped with a sprinkle of sea salt that enhances the depth of flavor and adds a perfect crunch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream, brown sugar, and butter. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches a simmer. Continue simmering for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  2. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  3. Once cooled, pour the caramel into a shallow dish and let it cool completely in the fridge for 2 hours or until firm.
  4. After the caramel has set, use a spoon to scoop out small portions and roll them into balls.
  5. In a separate heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
  6. Dip each caramel ball into the melted chocolate, then place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Sprinkle each truffle with a pinch of sea salt.
  8. Refrigerate the chocolate-covered caramel bites until fully set, about 30 minutes.
