Ingredients:
- 500g ground beef
- 300g penne pasta
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (400g) diced tomatoes
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook penne pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix the cooked pasta with the beef and tomato sauce.
- Layer half of the pasta mixture in a baking dish, sprinkle with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Repeat layers.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
