Ingredients:
- 8 cabbage leaves
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/4 pound ground pork
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
Directions:
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and blanch cabbage leaves for 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cooked rice, ground beef, ground pork, onion, garlic, egg, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Place a portion of the meat mixture in the center of each cabbage leaf. Fold in the sides and roll up the leaf to enclose the filling.
- Place the rolls seam side down in a baking dish.
- Pour tomato sauce and broth over the rolls.
- Cover and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour, until the meat is cooked and the cabbage is tender.
