  1. Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf

Ingredients:

  • For the Meatloaf:
    • 1 lb ground beef
    • 1/2 lb ground pork
    • 1 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1 egg
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
    • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
    • 1/2 cup onion, diced
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • For the Topping:
    • 1 cup provolone cheese slices
    • 1/2 cup sautéed onions and peppers

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, sauté the diced green bell pepper and onion until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and the sautéed peppers and onions. Mix until well combined.
  4. Gently fold in the shredded provolone cheese into the meat mixture.
  5. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and top it with provolone cheese slices and extra sautéed peppers and onions.
  7. Return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
