This Ground Beef and Peppers Skillet is a one-pan wonder that delivers both simplicity and flavor. The savory ground beef pairs perfectly with the sweet bell peppers, creating a hearty and satisfying dish. The combination of spices like chili powder, paprika, and cumin infuses the dish with a deep, comforting taste, while the melted cheddar cheese adds richness and creaminess to every bite.
- Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 bell peppers, sliced (red, green, or yellow)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup beef broth (or water)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Directions:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add the diced onion and sliced bell peppers to the skillet, and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables begin to soften.
- Stir in the minced garlic, chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing the spices to become fragrant.
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the liquid to reduce slightly.
- Optional: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the beef and pepper mixture, then cover the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the cheese melts.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving, if desired. Serve hot with rice, pasta, or enjoy as is!
