These Honey Ham Biscuits are the ideal combination of sweet and savoury, with the golden, flaky pastry offering a light crunch, while the honey and ham create a satisfying and flavourful filling. Topped with a sprinkle of melted cheese and a drizzle of honey, they’re perfect as an appetizer or snack.

  1. Ingredients:
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 200g cooked ham, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan) or 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into small squares, about 3 inches by 3 inches each.
  3. Place a slice of cooked ham in the centre of each pastry square.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the honey and Dijon mustard. Drizzle about a teaspoon of the honey-mustard mixture over the ham on each square.
  5. Sprinkle a little grated cheddar cheese over the ham and drizzle each biscuit with a small amount of melted butter.
  6. Fold the corners of the pastry up to enclose the filling, forming a small parcel or pouch.
  7. Place the wrapped biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley, if desired. Serve warm.
