These Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents are the perfect combination of flaky, buttery dough and a rich, savory filling. The sausage adds a nice bit of spice and heartiness, while the cream cheese creates a smooth, creamy texture that makes each bite irresistible. The crescents are golden brown and perfect for snacking or serving as appetizers at any gathering.
- Ingredients:
- 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Continue to cook until browned and fully cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- Reduce the heat and add the softened cream cheese to the cooked sausage. Stir until the cream cheese is fully melted and combined with the sausage. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate the triangles. Place a spoonful of the sausage and cream cheese mixture in the center of each crescent triangle.
- Roll up the crescent dough around the filling, starting from the wide end, and place each rolled-up crescent onto the prepared baking sheet.
- If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of each crescent before baking.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and flaky.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy!
